In this paper different methods of current control for a switched reluctance machine are presented, namely, hysteresis and PWM control, with both hard and soft chopping techniques. Firstly, the influence of the hysteresis band width on the switching frequency and on the torque mean value and ripples is studied. Secondly, the influence of the frequency of the PWM generator on the width of the band in which the current is kept and on the mean value of the torque is presented. Both hysteresis and PWM control are done with soft- and hard-chopping. The obtained results can be further used in the choice of a control method for the desired application.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
