De la polymorphie du purisme linguistique sur l'internet

Norms and how they are represented are in circulation among the users of language; what they say becomes an object of study for linguists and today, Discourse Analysis can hardly avoid everyday linguistics. Since the internet is one of the major vectors of meta-linguistic communication forums are full of meta-linguistic commentaries it seems necessary to look into the nature of the opinions expressed about language. We have attempted to discover what was being said about certain language facts, that concern syntax as much as morphology: using the subjunctive after après que? the expression aller au coiffeur, feminizing titles, the words promotionner and solutionner the neologisms connected to the new technologies. Are web surfers purists? One might also wonder about the possible implications of such opinions, especially from the pedagogical point of view. From the point of view of teaching and learning, representations cannot be ignored, those of teachers as well as of students.
