Background. Infections caused by acyclovir-resistant isolates of herpes simplex virus (HSV) after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) are an emerging concern. An understanding of the evolutionary aspects of HSV infection is crucial to the design of effective therapeutic and control strategies.Methods.
