Aluminum production using the Hall-Héroult process requires an intensive electric current. With an increasing demand for aluminum due to the growth in use of raw materials such as aluminum, and economic developments, aluminum producers are striving to reduce their production costs to remain competitive in a difficult market. One way of doing this is to reduce the voltage drop in the Hall-Héroult cells, which yields a remarkable amount of savings in the long term from only a slight optimization.
