Diese Diplomarbeit untersucht welche Herausforderungen die vier nigerianische Hauptcharaktere in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichies Roman Americanah erleben und wie sie dennoch eine transnationale Identität konstruieren. Adichie stellt Rassismus, Arbeitslosigkeit und Anpassungsdruck als mögliche Ursachen für den Anpassungsstress der Charaktere dar.
