Die Komplexität der cranialen Anatomie ist schon lange ein bedeutendes Thema in der Evolutions- biologie. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es zu untersuchen wie die Gesamtform des Schädels bei Homo sapiens zustande kommt und welche Mechanismen und Regulationen auf welchen räumlichen Skalen aktiv sind. Daher wurden zwei Modelle angewandt, die es erlauben zwischen irregulation/self-similarity, coordinated growth und compensatory growth bei Schädelgröße und -gestalt zu unterscheiden. Dreidimensionale CT-Scans von 30 menschlichen Crania (14 weibliche, 16 männliche) wurden verwendet. 65 mediansagittale unpaarige Landmarks wurden auf jedem Individuum markiert.
