Das Aktin-Zytoskelett ist entscheidend für viele zelluläre Prozesse und wird kontrolliert durch kleine GTPasen der Rho Familie. Ein bekanntes Mitglied ist RhoA, welches so grundlegende Prozesse wie Zellmigration und Zellkontraktion reguliert. RhoA kontrolliert das Aktin-Zytoskelett durch verschiedene Effektoren, wobei die Rho assoziierte Kinase (ROCK) besonders bedeutend ist, weil sie sowohl direkt als auch indirekt auf Aktomyosin wirken kann.
