The aim of this study is to explore what determines the sustainable development and growth of medical tourism in India. In-depth interview qualitative research method was adopted to collect the data from private corporate hospital representatives engaged in the global business of medical tourism. The findings from this study show that healthcare quality, surgical costs, waiting time for surgery, state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, medical staff, accreditation, regulation, and government policies and support for maintaining and improving quality of medical tourism are important issues for development and growth of medical tourism in India.
