Since that time, treatment options have stolen the spotlight, and limited focus has occurred on the actual disorder. The diagnosis of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), risks and benefits ofthe diagnosis, and alternative treatment modalities used in a clinical setting will be reviewed in this manuscript.
