Physicians Can Impact Policy That Supports Children's Health

Canada is a liberal welfare state. It favours the needs of the individual over the needs of the community. Policymakers need to enact public policy that improves the living conditions that impact the health of children. Physicians can help to educate the public about the social determinants of health. They can have an impact on public policy.York's Knowledge Mobilization Unit provides services and funding for faculty, graduate students, and community organizations seeking to maximize the impact of academic research and expertise on public policy, social programming, and professional practice.
