Alex Karner is an Assistant Professor in the School of City and Regional Planning at Georgia Tech. His work aims to quantify the social equity, environmental, and public health implications of transportation projects and plans by using emerging data sources and developing new, open source methods.Mollie Mahany is the Senior Public Health Advisor at the Centers for Disease Control.Na'Taki Osborne Jelks is the Manager for Education and Advocacy Programs and is responsible for building the capacity of individuals and community organizations to take personal and civic action to restore the communities in which they live, work, play, worship, and learn through NWF's youth environmental education and leadership development program for teens of color (Earth Tomorrow) and through various adult civic engagement and advocacy initiatives.Bruce Stiftel is a Professor and Chair of the School of City and Regional Planning at Georgia Tech. His research concerns collaborative governance of environmental policy, water planning, and planning school advancement. He moderates this discussion panel.Richard N. Wright is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is vice chair of the ASCE Committee on Adaptation to a Changing Climate, member of the ASCE Committee on Sustainability, chair of its Sustainable Infrastructure Education Subcommittee, and represents ASCE in the Engineering Founder Societies’ Technologies for Carbon Management Project and the National Climate Assessment Network.
