Lettering: objects, examples, practice was an exhibition curated by Professor Phil Baines in conjunction with staff from the Museum & Study Collection at Central Saint Martins. This ‘partial history’ of lettering was been traced through objects from the Central Saint Martins Museum & Study Collection and Central Lettering Record (CLR). Over the last century the original teaching collection has been augmented by the work of staff, students and alumni of the college. A special limited edition of the title 'In the Land of Punctuation' (Morgenstern and Ramanathan, 2009) was produced for the exhibition. It used silkscreen and hand bookbinding methods to showcase the typographic design which is crucial to the understanding of the book's content....
