Recovery for individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex, multifaceted process that remains under researched. The thesis focuses on two elements of recovery for individuals with a BPD diagnosis; elements of mental health services that individuals find therapeutically valuable, and how the concept of recovery affects sense of self. The literature review is a thematic synthesis of therapeutic and non-therapeutic elements of mental health care services for those with a BPD diagnosis and provides a detailed, in depth account of this varied experience.
