This paper describes an architecture that separates the processing logic from the rendering engine in an interactive application such as a television quiz running on a set-top box. Such applications are ideally suited to implementation by domain-specic languages (DSLs) that abstract away from implementation details and thereby be accessible to developers whose primary expertise is in areas other than computer software. The approach also enforces a standard look and feel. The paper uses the textual language denition facilities of the XMF tool to implement the DSL
