Background : Streptococcus pneumoniae nasopharingeal colonization is an important pathogenesis route of various pediatric diseases. This process is mostly asymptomatic. S. pneumoniae colonization is related to Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARTI). Many factors are predicted in increasing the colonization process in children with ARTI. Aim : This research is aimed to determine the relationship between the factors, which are recurrent ARTI, exclusive breastfeeding, passive smoking, and house crowding, and nasopharingeal colonization of S. pneumoniae in chlidren with ARTI.
