Glazer proposes an entirely new way of understanding sexual orientation for law but also for life. Glazer introduces the distinction between an individual\u27s General Orientation which is the sex toward which an individual is generally attracted, and an individual\u27s Specific Orientation which is the sex of an individual\u27s chosen partner(s). While for many the two orientations are identical, for bisexuals the two orientations often differ. Glazer\u27s framework makes room for bisexuals, as well as others whose orientations do not fit within the rigid categories that govern the collective understanding of human sexuality
