This Ph.D. thesis aims to gain a better understanding of non-catalytic and catalytic supercritical fluid (SCF) transesterification between ethanol and rapeseed oil to produce biodiesel mainly consisting of fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE) for future reactor scale-up and process design.
