This protein family has also been implicated in chemotherapeutic resistance, the cause of approximately 90% of treatment failure in advanced cancer. We analyzed the expression and the role of the Bcl-2 proteins in chemotherapy resistant breast cancer cells. Further, we investigated the role of a new class of molecules developed in our laboratory that target Bcl-2.
