Graduation date: 1963The Weather Radar Set An/CPS-9 at McCulloch Peak,\ud Oregon, provided data of changes in radar precipitation\ud echo patterns in the vicinity of Marys Peak. Echo heights\ud studied from data collected on 14 March 1963 averaged nearly\ud the same upwind, directly over Marys Peak, and downwind.\ud For the data of 28 March 1963, echo heights upwind and\ud those directly over the peak averaged nearly the same\ud while the heights downwind averaged 600 feet lower. In\ud the first case shearing of the echo tops as detected over\ud the peak might cause the similarity of the reported heights\ud of the echoes. Study of the movement of the echoes near\ud Marys Peak showed spreading of echoes in the second case,\ud while no eviden...
