Mentor: Christine Mueller, PhDFalls in nursing homes are a serious health problem and the consequences of falling can have far-reaching effects on the health and independence of older adults. There is evidence that exercise and balance training can reduce an older adult’s risk for falls. The purpose of this project is to identify the barriers and facilitators that may impact the success in implementing a balance and exercise program for nursing home residents in a nursing home with the intent to reduce the prevalence of falls.
