Resistance to Flow in Two Types of Concrete Pipe

Experimental studies were performed on 24-in. and 36-in. concrete culvert pipe to determine the effect of interior surface finishes and joint irregularities on the frictional resistance of the pipe. Cast and vibrated pipe and machine-tamped pipe were used in the tests.
