This is mainly because of the interest in static and dynamical behaviors of the foreign particles, but those studies can also give us useful information on the physical property of quantum liquid. We have observed emission and absorption spectra of the $ns^{2 1}S_{o} \leftrightarrow nsnp {^{1}}P_{1}$ transitions of alkali earth atoms ($n = 3,4, 5$ and 6 for Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, respectively) in liquid ${^{4}}He$ and ${^{3}}He$.
