Lett., 64, 573 (1979).Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, University of British ColumbiaAminoborane, $H_{2}NBH_{2}$, an inorganic analogue of ethylene, has only been positively observed in the gas phase by microwave $spectroscopy^{1}$ after pyrolysis of $B_{2}H_{6}/NH_{3}$ mixtures. Using an alternative route we now report that this unstable molecule can be prepared in excellent yield in the gas phase, thereby permitting all 9 of the 11 infrared active fundamentals between 800 and $4000 cm^{-1}$ to be observed together with several combination bands.
