This research was supported by the Biological and physical Science Research Institute, Mississippi State University and by the donors of the Petroleum Research Fund administered by the American Chemical Society.Author Institution: Department of Physics and Department of Chemistry, Mississippi State UniversityThe microwave spectrum of 1,4-Thioxane has been studied in the region [FIGURE] 26,5 - 40 GHz. The molecule is a highly asymmetric rotor ($x$ = - 0.074917). From the analysts of the a-type transitions the rotational constants determined are (in MHz) A = 4333.85, B = 3076.14 and C = 1991.96. The data are consistent with a chair conformation. Stark effect studies are in progress
