ELECTRONIC SPECTRA OF DATIVE BONDED PHOSPHORUS HALIDES

Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, North Texas State UniversityThe electronic spectra of fluorine and chlorine substituted dative bonded phosphorus compounds have been measured in the vapor phase for the spectral region 2500 to 1250 \AA. The compounds include phosphoryl and thiophosphoryl ($O:PF_{n}Cl_{3-n}$ and $S:PF_{n}Cl_{3-n}$, where n = 0 - 3) where the spectral variations will be considered in terms of the different atoms attached to the respective phosphorus atoms. Results of molecular orbital calculations will be utilized together with photoelectron data
