Author Institution: Department of Physics, The Ohio State UniversityThe previous measurements in this laboratory of the CO laser spectra extended up to $v = 28$ in the $X^{1}\Sigma^{+}$ state. The present work extends these measurements to $v = 36$ employing a Q-switched carbon monoxide laser as a source and a vacuum infrared spectrograph for recording the spectra. In the course of this work, the data for the CO laser spectra between $v = 5$ and $v = 28$ were repeated to assure us of internal consistency in the entire set of experimental results. The molecular constants derived by combining this new information with all the other available infrared data will be discussed
