Author Institution: Space Sciences Division, Jet Propulsion Lab., California Institute of Technology; Department of Chemistry, University of Southern CaliforniaThe microwave spectra of all mono-substituted boron isotopic species and three doubly substituted boron species have been observed and analyzed for 2,3 dicarbahexaborane (6). The analysis of the rotational spectrum shows that this molecule has the structural form of a tetragonal bipyramid. The carbon atoms are adjacent and are both located in the trapezoidal base. No hydrogen bonding occurs. The molecule is very nearly a spherical rotor. The dipole moment, 1.50 Debyes, is oriented along the planar symmetry axis
