Author Institution: Bell Telephone LaboratoriesAn analysis of the gas phase infrared spectra of $GeH_{3}NCO$ and $GeD_{3}NCO$ strongly indicates that the molecule exists as the isocyanate although there is some evidence for the existence of a few per cent of the normal cyanate form. Band contours also lead to the conclusion that the $Ge-N=C=O$ unit is not linear and that the molecule is an asymmetric top. Assignments of observed spectra, recorded in the range $33-4000 cm^{-1}$, are internally consistent and agree with those made for closely related molecules
