MICRO ATTENUATED TOTAL REFLECTANCE UNIT

An optical system has been devised and constructed which permits obtaining ATR spectra from samples having working areas as small as $0.5 \times 3 mm$. The system permits adjustment of the incidence angle between 30 and $50^{\circ}$. The sample is pressed against a suitable half-cylinder of infrared transmitting material. Spectra will be shown which have been taken on several familiar infrared spectrophotometers
