Author Institution: Department of Physics, East China Normal University; Department of Physics, Tongji University$C^{4+}$ ions play an important role in the laser action of Cr: $Mg_{3}$ $SiO_{4}$ crystals. The research about the properties and electronic structure of the $Cr^{4+}$ ions in the crystal is therefore of significance. Systematic flourescent spectra of two kinds of the Cr: $Mg_{2}$$SiO_{4}$ crystal grown in different conditions exited by 532nm laser were obtained. They provide rich information on the spectral properties of the Cr ions such as emission band distribution, the polarization of the fluorescence, the dependence of the intensity of the emission bands on temperature and the effects the growing condition upon the spectra,...
