HIGH RESOLUTION ELECTRONIC SPECTRUM OF Ne$\bullet$OH/D

Chem., Phys. 96, xxxx (1992).Author Institution: Laser Spectroscopy Facillity, Department of Chemistry, The Ohio State UniversityWe $reported^{1,2}$ the high resolution spectra of the $Ne-OH \tilde{A}(0,0^{\circ}, 0), (0,0\circ,1)$, and $(0,1^{\circ},1)$ bands (A bands). The notation $(v_{OH}, n^k, v_{vdW})$ indicate respectively the quantum numbers of the OH moiety stretch, the OH internal rotation with the projection K superscripted, and the van der Waals stretch. The spectra of the A bands show a similar spin-rotational and hyperfine structure to that of the Ar$\cdot$OH/D A bands. In addition to the similarity, there is a major difference. Unlike Ar$\cdot$OH/D, Ne$\cdot$OH is better described as a complex with a free internal rotor in both the $\tilde{X}$ and $\tilde{A}$ state. This causes an observed parity splitting in the $\tilde{X}$ state. This parity splitting is due to Coriolis perturbations in a free rotor limit model. To better understand the nature of the open-shell complexes near the free rotor limit, we have obtained the spectra of the Ne$\cdot$OD A bands under a resolution about 250-300 MHz. The spectra of the Ne$\cdot$OH and Ne$\cdot$OD $\tilde{A} (O, 1^{1}, 1)$ bands were also recorded. The analysis of all these spectra will be presented
