Calvert, JQSRT (in press)Author Institution:The technique of whole-band analysis by nonlinear least squares spectral curve fitting described by Lin $et al^{1}$ has been applied to laboratory absorption spectra of $N_{2}O$ taken at a resolution of $0.05 cm^{-1}$. Band parameters were obtained for line positions, intensities and widths, as well as the background and resolution, by fitting spectra containing more than 100 lines of a single band in a spectral range of $100 cm^{-1}$. Simultaneous analysis of overlapping bands containing many blended lines, a problem to which the whole-band technique is particularly suited, will also be discussed
