The correlation found by $Tamres^{1}$ between integral heat of solution of chloroform in various solvents and the shift of the O-H stretching frequency of methyl alcohol in the same solvents does not extend to the frequency of the chloroform C-D stretch. There is, however, a correlation between the heat of solution and the integrated intensity of this C-D band.
