Following the American example where children are not sent to prison anymore at the end of the XIXth century, in 1918 Spain establishes a model of justice specifically applicable to minors. The main idea is that a minor is different from an adult and, instead of being punished, he should rather be treated, reeducated and transformed. If the spread of this protecting paradigm is well known in the western countries between 1880 and 1914, the adherence of the Iberian Peninsula to this international movement is rarely evoked.
