De la Phalange à la résistance antifranquiste : la théâtralisation de la figure de Dionisio Ridruejo chez Ignacio Amestoy

International audienceDionisio Ridruejo, una pasión española, a play written in 1982 by Ignacio Amestoy, dramatizes the historic and political figure of Dionisio Ridruejo using the device of identity splitting on Colonel Arenas's character. This dramatic process enables the emergence of a need, in Colonel Arenas, for resistance to Francoism in a tragic way. Between the last revivals of Falange violence and fits of critiques, Colonel Arenas identifies Ridruejo as his double. The study of the splitting device highlights the significance of the way that leads to resistance, a truly tragic path and an ideological way of the cross. The use of documentary theatre gives the hero's speeches a leading place and allows condensing Ridruejo's ideological path. Beyond the dramatization of Ridruejo's figure, Amestoy represents the collective tragedy of the Civil war and Francoism by questioning the attribution of unchanging ideological labels so as to characterize individual and collective paths over the period. Dionisio Ridruejo, una pasión española was only performed in 2014, that is to say more than thirty years after it was written : the recent performance of the play at the Dramatic National Center (Madrid) could be interpreted as an artistic commitment from the author and the director in order to start reflecting on Spain's recent History for the audience.Dionisio Ridruejo, una pasión española, pièce de théâtre écrite en 1982 par Ignacio Amestoy, théâtralise la figure historique et politique de Dionisio Ridruejo grâce au dédoublement identitaire du personnage du Colonel Arenas. Ce processus dramatique permet de faire affleurer de façon tragique la nécessité de la résistance au franquisme chez le Colonel Arenas. Entre derniers regains de violence phalangiste et sursauts critiques, le Colonel Arenas reconnaît en Ridruejo son double. L'étude du mécanisme du dédoublement permet de mettre en lumière l'importance du cheminement qui mène à la résistance, véritable itinéraire tragique et chemin de croix idéologique. Le recours au théâtre documentaire donne au discours du héros une place prépondérante et permet de condenser l'itinéraire idéologique de Ridruejo. Au-delà de la théâtralisation de la figure de Ridruejo, Amestoy représente la tragédie collective de la Guerre civile et du franquisme en questionnant l'attribution d'étiquettes idéologiques immuables pour caractériser les parcours vitaux individuels et collectifs durant cette période.
