Miami, métropole-carrefour des Amériques. Réflexions à partir de l’expérience migratoire haïtienne

International audienceThe article explores the notion of ‘hub city’ based on the case of metropolitan Miami, and the connection of its ethnic neighborhoods with the migration fields and systems upon which the city has built its international influence. Miami is conceptualized as a multicultural interface city fuelled by migration globalization. Within this framework, the residential and business territorialization of Miami’s Haitian community is analyzed in relation with its role as a base and connecting hub for the development of transnational networks in the Haitian diaspora and the Caribbean basin.L’article explore la notion de ville-carrefour à partir du contexte métropolitain de Miami, et de l’articulation de ses territoires ethniques avec les champs et systèmes de migration sur lesquels la ville fonde son rayonnement international.
