Determinan Kemiskinan Rumah Tangga di Provinsi Jambi

The results showed that the poverty rate in the Jambi Province in 2012 was increased compared to the year 2011, but generally in the last five years the poverty rate was decreased in Jambi Province. Districts with the highest poverty reduction was East Tanjung Jabung. Jambi poverty gap index showed a decline in the last five years. In 2012 the district / city with the highest poverty gap index was East Tanjung Jabung. Poverty severity index for the last five years showed improvement. Jambi City had the highest poverty severity index was compared with other district / city in Jambi Province. The characteristics of poor households in Jambi Province were the majority were living in rural areas, the majority of heads of poor households were male, the majority of heads of poor households in Jambi Province had educated under junior high school, the majority of heads of poor household were working in agriculture, the majority of poor households had a member more than four people and the majority of poor households in Jambi Province had never obtained business credit. Jambi Provincial Government should create poverty policies to prioritize households who live in rural areas, improving the quality of human resources by advancing the education sector, improving the economic condition of farmers, should more aggressively disseminate family planning programs and should more aggressively provide business loans assistance for poor households in Jambi Province.
