Purpose: Continuous flow left ventricular assist devices (CF-LVADs) generally operate at a constant speed, which causes a decrease in pulse pressure and pulsatility in the arteries and allegedly may lead to late complications such as aortic insufficiency and gastrointestinal bleeding.
