Orientaciones para el futuro del deporte en las instituciones de educación superior

This article provides a series of guidelines for the future of sport in higher education instit u- tions. The anal ysis of the current situation shows a great heterogeneity of models. Therefore, first, it is wise to define the mission that legitimizes the meaning and practice of the university sports departments in the future. From the definition of its mission, we wil l find out possible lines of progress for its management. At the institutional level, we collect and discuss the guidelines proposed by the Report of University Sport from the Comprehensive Plan for Physical Activity and Sport . Moreover, at the organizatio nal level, we propose a series of lines whose application would be suitable for each sports department. At this level of specificity, we address action cores as management of social responsibility, creation and maintenance of facilities, treatment of high - level athletes, promoting research, physical activity as a source of health and comprehensive education, and educational profile of workers.El presente artículo ofrece una serie de pautas para el futuro del deporte en las instituciones de educación superior. El análisis de la situación actual muestra una gran heterogeneidad de modelos que hacen necesario definir y esclarecer, a priori, la misión que ha de dar sentido y legitimar la práctica futura de los servicios de deporte universitarios. A partir de la definición de ese bien interno, se plantean posibles líneas de avance para su gestión. A nivel institucional se recogen y comentan las directrices propuestas por el Informe de Deporte en la Universidaddel Plan Integral para la Actividad Física y el Deporte. Por otra parte, a nivel organizativo, planteamos una serie de líneas concretas cuya aplicación correspondería a cada servicio de deportes en particular. En este nivel de concreción abordamos núcleos de actuación como: la gestión de la responsabilidad social, la creación y mantenimiento de instalaciones, el trato a los deportistas de alto nivel, la promoción de la investigación, la práctica físico-deportiva como fuente de salud y formación integral y el perfil formativo de los trabajadores
