The Saône as it flows into the city of Lyon. A physical, chemical and biological study. This pluridisplinary study describes, on an annual cycle, the state of the ecosystem in 3 main stations opposite the small town of Neuville. The following items were successively investigated : the main physical, chemical and biochemical parameters of the water, the sediment, the microorganisms, the amount of chlorophyll a in the water, the periphyton, the aquatic macrophytes, the benthic invertebrates and the fishes. While providing a state of reference for future studies, the data pointed out to a second rate quality of the water and a low diversity of the populations. Though the river apparently suffers from a series of small agressions, it has not...
