Research into the cognitive disorders of schizophrenics have, since the Sixties, borrowed from neuropsychology its methodology and its instruments, one of the objectives sought being, based on the subject's confused responses to testing, to locate damaged areas in the brain. Since then, neuropsychology has evolved, in particular due to the development of models based on the criteria of cognitive neuropsychology, oriented towards the description of the organization of disorders rather than on locating the underlying cerebral lesions.
