Systematics and biogeography analysis leads to the proposal of a probable phylogenetic evolution diagram for genus Leistus. Subgenus Neoleistus Erwin is considered valid. Subgenus Leistus s. str. is divided into several species groups and a key to the asian species of the L. fulvibarbis Dejean group is given, among which three new species are described : L. chaudoiri and L. ledouxi from the Pontian Alps (Turkey), and L. semenovi from Turkestan.
