Dr. Landon Storrs is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the History Department at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on 20th Century U.S. social and political history. She has written monographs about female reformers\u27 New Deal era efforts and about the far-reaching impact of the federal employee loyalty program (which was created in the 1940s due to fears of Communist infiltration of the U.S. government) on American political discourse to this day. Her work reveals how antifeminist conservatives in the postwar period exploited popular hostility to female government officials to discredit left-liberal policies.
