The processes of Building Information Modeling (BIM) focus on the embedding of information of different domains into a digital representation of a building called a Building Information Model (BIM). Any usage of such a model requires correctness and completeness of this model. Hereby, a geometric model is an essential part of the entire model. By the increasing availability and application of digital building models, a formalization of digital model checking methods is required. This thesis deals with the question, how geometric model checking methods are performed, how such methods can be embedded into an entire concept of building model validation and which prerequisites are needed.
