Chinese medicine is a complex field with a very long history and a great many diverse currents. Today, mainland Chinese still use Chinese medicine (CM) for the treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, and Chinas medical students study CM alongside Western biomedicine because the nations integrated healthcare system delivers both. Australians also use CM for all kinds of acute and chronic illnesses even though Australian CM practitioner training qualifies its graduates to practice Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine only.
