Aims and objectives The role of the volunteers in healthcare has a significant impact in developing countries. In countries where healthcare services are sub-optimal the contribution of voluntary organisations is important. The aim of this project was to provide primary / first contact care to the local population within a structured community project. Content of presentation The DR is still considered a developing country but is undergoing transformation due to its popularity as the fastest growing Caribbean .
