Rotterdam is at the moment a very important harbour; it is the gateway to Europe. Because of that it is important to the Dutch and European economy. To maintain its position the government decided to improve the hinterland connections by building the Betuweroute. In the Netherlands the discussion strengthened if it is necessary to build the track. This report will deal with the question if the carriers will use the track, because the building of the track is only useful if the utility is good.
