One of the hottest topics in video compression technology today is MPEG (Moving Pictures Expert Group). It is a working group of ISO/IEC (the International Standards Organization / the International Electro-technical Commission) in charge of the development of standards for coded representation of digital audio and video. MPEG is a combination of lossy video compression and lossy audio compression. High compression rate is achieved in MPEG by storing the difference from one frame to another, instead of storing each entire frame.
