CPV as an adolescent concern tends to be the focus of research published and guidelines indicated to date (for example see The Home Office, 2015 Guidance for working with Adolescents ) a notion indicated in the findings of Cottrell and Monk (2004) whose qualitative overview of common themes (ranging from mid 1970’s) identified that most studies focused on CPV involving those aged 10-18 years of age. In contrast the results of the exploratory survey suggest that more focus needs to be given to families of younger children, particularly those within the primary age phase, as argued by Bonnick (2016) in her podcast discussion interview.
