After the extensive urban demolitions carried out during the fascist period, the rebuilding of new architectures inside the urban historical context was felt necessary by completely innovatory design approaches. For the frst time, in that period, architecture has been called to deal with the issues of integration between ancient urban tissues and urban scale regenerations. The city center of Florence hosted, from 1930 to 1966 in the quarter of Santa Croce, an urban void flled only in 1966 with the development of the new headquarters of the Provincial Directorate of Posts and Telegraphs of Florence by Giovanni Michelucci.
